Reactions to a treatment
There are no harmful after-effects of having a treatment, but in activating the body’s natural healing mechanism some reactions may be expected as the body attempts to eliminate these toxins and imbalances. This is referred to as a ‘healing response’.
Here’s what you might feel after your session:
- A sense of calm and wellbeing
- A boost in energy
- A possible reduction in pain
- Sleep comes more easily and deeply
- A temporary outbreak of a condition which has been suppressed or aggravation of an existing complaint
- Disrupted sleep patterns or a headache
- Increase in certain bodily functions such as urination and bowel movement
- It’s also normal to feel a bit more emotional
Any reactions usually occur within the first 24–48 hours following a treatment. Whatever the ‘healing response’, it is a necessary part of the healing process and will pass.
To gain optimum benefit from your treatment, the following measures are advised:
- Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins the body wishes to eliminate
- Eat easily digested food
- Rest the body and avoid rushing around and relax as much as possible
Face Covering
Please inform me in advance if you wish me to wear face coverings.
Mutual Respect
As a therapist, it is essential to establish a professional environment where mutual respect is the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. Therefore, it is expected that clients conduct themselves in a manner that is always respectful towards the therapist.
This includes but is not limited to:
-
- Being punctual for appointments
- Maintaining a courteous demeanour
- Communication free of any form of harassment or discrimination
- Respectful behaviour not only fosters a positive and productive therapeutic setting but also supports the integrity and effectiveness of the treatment process.
- Clients are reminded that respect is a two-way street, and I am equally committed to upholding these standards in my professional conduct.
Provision of additional therapies
I do offer other therapies in addition to reflexology and I provide these therapies to the same high standard. I reserve the right to use discretion regarding offering these therapies to clients.
